Questions

Is this free?

Yes. Browsing and calling companies is free. You never pay us.

Are you a garage door company?

No. We are a directory of Minnesota garage door companies. You contact companies directly, and your contract is with the company you hire.

How do companies get listed, and in what order?

We list local companies whose own websites show they do garage door work, after checking each website and phone number. We leave out lead sites and call centers that pose as local companies. The list runs A to Z, or nearest first when you enter your city or ZIP. No one pays to be listed.

Does a garage door company need a license in Minnesota?

Not for garage door work alone. Minnesota counts garage doors and openers as one "special skill", and contractors with one skill don't need a state license (DLI). Some cities, like St. Paul and Minneapolis, have their own contractor license.

What does a broken spring cost to fix?

About $200 to $330, parts and labor (HomeBlue). See the spring repair guide.
